Franklin Bank has been notified that consumers, including non-customers of Franklin Bank, have received emails claiming to be from Franklin Bank and asking them to click on a link that appears to be Franklin Bank's online banking website

Franklin Bank will NEVER send an email to customers directing them to click on a link. This email did not originate from, nor is it endorsed by, Franklin Bank. It is a fraudulent attempt to obtain personal information from consumers. Consumers should NOT under any circumstances access links within the emails or provide personal information. If you have gone to the website in the email and provided your log-on and password, please notify your local Franklin branch so they can assist you.

If anyone has already faxed or emailed the site and provided their personal information, we strongly encourage them to call their credit card company immediately, stop activity on the card and contact the three credit bureaus listed below. They should also request that a "fraud alert" and "victim's statement" be placed in their file, asking that creditors call them before opening any new accounts.
